7 października w Sali Pinottiego Muzeum Piastów Śląskich w Brzegu, odbyła się uroczysta inauguracja roku akademickiego 2023/2024. Uroczystość, swoją obecnością zaszczycili przedstawiciele administracji rządowej oraz samorządu wojewódzkiego, powiatowego i miejskiego, a także przedstawiciele opolskich i wrocławskich uczelni.
Po wprowadzeniu sztandaru i odegraniu Hymnu Państwowego, głos zabrał założyciel Uczelni, Kanclerz WSHE w Brzegu Stanisław Widocki, który przedstawił dokonania Uczelni w minionym roku akademickim. Następnie, po uroczystej immatrykulacji studentów I roku, oficjalnego otwarcia roku akademickiego dokonała Rektor Uczelni, Jej Magnificencja prof. zw. dr hab. Krystyna Ferenz. Jak co roku wręczono nagrody Orła WSHE. Kapituła nagrody zdecydowała o przyznaniu ich Dyrektor Powiatowego Urzędu Pracy w Brzegu Annie Soroczyńskiej, Dyrektorowi Zakładu Karnego w Brzegu mjr Tomaszowi Jastrzębskiemu oraz studentce WSHE Pani Katarzynie Mruszczyk.
Niezwykle ciekawy wykład inauguracyjny „Dziedzictwo rodzinne czyli rzecz o przekazach transgeneracyjnych” wygłosił dr hab. Andrzej Ładyżyński prof. UWr.
Uroczystą inaugurację roku akademickiego 2023/2024 tradycyjnie już zakończył wspaniały występ koncert kwartetu smyczkowego Opole Quartet.
